Hi,

I am attempting to install DNS server on a win 2k server. During installation I get a dialogue which reads: "One or more services for the DNS component could not be started due to error 0x8007041D. Installation will continue, but services will not be available until they are started."

The installation does indeed complete, but the DNS server service never starts and I am unable to get it to start (it does not start in a "timely" fashion.) I have tried uninstalling DNS and reinstalling again to no avail. The DNS utility is able to connect to other Windows DNS servers, but will not connect to the one on the local server because the service is not started. Any help will be appreciated!

did you check its dependencies (Service Properties)? Are they running also? A+, MCP, CCNA

Keep fighting for your knowledge!

Yes, the dependencies all seem to be running also.

Yes, we found this too! But does anybody have any ideas on how to fix it?
