I have setup remote notification (not sure if it's correct) but when I try to enter a pager number, it says that the number can't be dialed from this service... this is the first time that I set this up... what am I missing? Any and all help is appreciated

Start in the class of service. See if you are set for on switch, local or long distance on your outdial.

Once you have verified what RPL you are using verify that you can dial 9xx in that RPL.

Have NCOS 7 = unrestricted

Is that what you mean?

In the CP. In thee mailbox class of service the rpl, restriction permission list, is at the bottom.

call pilot or mermail? in cp under messaging you'll see restriction permission list, those have to allow the call. in mermail it's under a different screen but usually in mermail it's the ncos on the actual acd agent used for the voice mail channels. the same can be true with call pilot but changing those is a little harder...

what LD / commands do I use to check/change NCOS on ACD for MM?

ld 20
prt
tnb

then the tn of your voice mail interface card/ports..if your in an 11, it's almost always card 10. if your not sure of the tn, call mail and do a ld 80 trac 0 xxx with the x=to the number your calling from... do not change the ncos of that phone without help, either from here or your vendor. you can knock your switch down or worse..

Thank you everyone for your help, but at this point it sounds like too much of an undertaking for me to do. I will call Verizon and pay for the service call.

might be the best bet, most changes we are comfortable working people through. but when/if you need changes that effect service, it gets a little critical. i would watch or record the steps ver makes to learn as i pay. MOST techs will be glad to show you a few shortcuts... we are not all pains in the ...........neck
