We are operating in a W2K mixed mode domain. Along with other servers, we have 7 Citrix Metaframe XP servers loaded with W2K, SP3. One of the Citrix servers will not allow me (administrator) to add any permissions (folders, registry, etc.). When I access the security area and click Add to browse for users, I get:
Unable to display the user selection dialog (Null)
We have no other problems with this server. The person who set this server up is no longer here, so I don't know what experimenting he did to cause this.
Any ideas? Kind of "up the creek" without this ability.
Thanks!

Hi I just wonder if you got this problem solved.
I just got exactly the same problem.
On a W2K server with citrix.

No, we have opted to reload from scratch. Unfortunately, when I started to do that, the darn thing died. So now we will either rebuild it with new processors or get a new box. Sorry, no good news

One more question.
Have you been applying the
latest patches on this server?
If so I'll try to back up a bit.
Might be a patch that don't work
well together with citrix.
That might also be why there seems to be
only you and me having this problem yet.

Any updates/service packs etc that I load, I load on all servers, so I don't think that is an issue. We had some outside consultants look at this. They concluded that one or more Windows files had been deleted, causing the problem.

Fix for "Unable to display the user dialog. (null)

The solution to this is in MicroSoft Technet Article 269489
It has no text relevant to this problem, but trust me if you setup and apply the registry key at the bottom of the article, your problem will disappear instantly. No restart necessary for me but you may need it?
