We recently installed a spam filter and put new commands in our firewall to route all smtp traffic to the spam filter. pop3 route to the exchange server.
All inbound mail goes through the spam filter, but not outgoing mail.
We have a couple of users who have Delivery Options set on their email properties to send both to them and to another recipient (to an aol account).
This has been set up for over 6 months and has been working fine until we added the spam filter and changed the firewall config.
If internal users send to the internal address, it will send correctly to the aol account. But if an external address sends to the internal address, they will receive an undeliverable message for the aol account as follows:
Unable to deliver the message due to a communications failure
The MTS-ID of the original message is: c=us;a= ;p=fmfc;l=EXCHANGE0407271516P3XVSJ0J
MSEXCH:IMS:FMFC:FMFC:EXCHANGE 3550 (000B09AA) 550 REQUESTED ACTION NOT
TAKEN: DNS FAILURE
I changed the firewall to have the smtp traffic go to the exchange server rather than the spam filter, and the undeliverables stopped, but the aol account also does not get the email.
Any suggestions?
Thanks - Kristi
