Hey out there!

I'm having a problem with WinXp and Win Server 2003. It seems to be more of an XP thing though. My users cannot delete multiple files on the server using WinXP, however Win2K users have no such problem deleting the exact same files. The XP users are getting an "Access Denied" error.
Any help would be appreciated...

Gitszer,

This sounds like a permissions issue. To check, have an individual that normally logs to a XP station, log onto a W2K station and attempt to do the same. If it fails then you need to sdjust permissions for either the individual or the group that they belong.

If you find that this is not the issue please post back with results.

Hi,

Thanks for your response but I'm pretty sure its not a permissions error, I've played around with the permissions including giving full control to all users but they still get the error. It only happens on the Win XP client machines, Win2K clients have no problems deleting the same files..... I've logged several users onto both XP and 2K systems, the 2K systems don't experience the problem but the XP ones do.... very strange. I even went as far as rebuilding both the server and a few of the Xp client stations - no luck yet....

Thanks bcastner,

Both client and server are running latest service packs and I've even ran the MS update to patch the systems. Any more ideas?
