I have been using Diskkeeper 7.0 to defrag my hard drive. I have my drive partitioned into three drives;C:, D:, and E:. On drive C: there are several files that I am unable to get to defrag. Most of the files are in the C:\WINDOWS\system32\config folder. Here is a list of some of the files:
- SAM 256KB
- SOFTWARE 16,384KB
- SYSTEM 768KB
- system.sav 380KB
There are a few others as well. I've tried running CHKDSK thorough. I always make sure unnecessary services and all start up programs are disabled when defragging. I've even tried in safe mode but no change.
Are there any suggestions as to what the reason might be for defrag not being able to handle these files?
Thanks!
