Hi !

"Unable to contact the MetaFrame server browser. There may be network problems, or you may need to configure or correct the server address in the server location field."

That's the error I'm getting when I try to access via web a published application on my MetaFrame XP 1.0 for Win 2003 Server.

It happens after I log in, NFuse shows the icons of the apps, hit the link, shows the "connecting" stuff and then boom!: the message.

I'm just starting to use this citrix stuff and don't know very much about it.

Thanks !

It sounds like nfuse can't commmunicate with the MF data collector.

Since you say "nfuse" and not WebInterface I'm going to assume that you have NF 1.7....

go to the nfuse admin page :
click "metaframe servers"

verify that your MFDC is configured in the server list.

FYI,

By default this communication occurs over tcp port 80 so if your using multiple firewalls / DMZ routing may be an issue.

Hi TonyFal !

I tried all, don't have a clue on what's happening.

I would like to ask you a question, everything was working fine, up until two weeks ago, and I think that may have something to do with folders sharings and permissions, sine we installed an application that I believe that maybe we changed something related to citrix MetaFrame.

We are using MetaFrame XP, could you tell me which specific folders need to be shared and/or what type of permissions must be enable in order to comunicate with the citrix server?

I mean, Internet Guest Account, etc...

Remember that so far that via web (NFuse) we can login to the server, and we see the icons of the published applications, but when we click on the apps they don't execute, just return the error described above ("Unable to contact the MetaFrame server browser. There may be network problems, or you may need to configure or correct the server address in the server location field.")

Save the .ica file by right clicking the application and doing a save as. Open this up in notepad and make sure nfuse is publishing the correct settings.

Thanks !

Got everything working just fine
;-)

Thanks again !

(It was a setting that was pointing to the wrong direction)

I am having the same problem, can someone help me how to fix it.

We have metaframe XP server and most of the clients get connected to the NFUSE and work. From 1 month i had seen that from some machines (probably new which did not have a ICA client) when i login to citrix with NFUSE or neighborhood it shows all the published apps . But when i click on any application it doesn't do anything.

Any help !!!

---Thanks
Cathy
