Unable to access website by url must use IP address

I have a W2k server running DNS and IIS. My website is accessible only by typing in the url. I want to be able to access it by using the domain name. The domain name is registered but I am unable to access the website using it can someone please help...
 
I should have said the ip address is the only way I can access my website...sorry...I goofed
 
when you register the doamin name, did you tell the company to point it to the server IP address?

you need to put the entry in ur DNS server configuration -There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't-
