On my W2k Server, when I go to:
-> Computer Management
-> System Information
-> System Summary

This is the error that I am getting. I am not getting the system information summary being displayed.

System Information report written at: 10/04/2004 08:03:00 AM
[System Summary]

System Information
The connection to could not be established. Check to see that the network path name is correct, that you have sufficient permission to access Windows Management Instrumentation, and that the Windows Management Instrumentation service is started on the computer.

Thoughts?

Actually this error happens under "system information" and every category under it.

I have tried logging in as admin remotely and its giving the same error.

Your Windows Management Instrumentation service sounds like it's messed up. Try this as a fix:

Stop the WMI service and set it to disabled.
Reboot your computer.
When it comes back up, go to the /%systemroot%/system32/wbem/ folder and delete the repository folder.
Set the WMI service back to automatic and reboot again.
When it comes back up, check the System Information again ... the information should be there.

Did Mich's solution work? I am thinking it is a permissions issue. We are running Blackice on our server, bluescreens from time to time.
