We've been testing the UM piece of 2007 and have it integrated with our Cisco CM. One issue that we can't seem to find the source for is the interdigit timers used by Exchange. When a caller hears the Auto-att they can dial an extension or say the person's name, but when dialing an extension they must dial it very fast (less than a second in between each digit) otherwise she states "I'm not allowed to dial that.....". Our extensions are 3 digits 1XX-3XX. If they dial 1 and wait longer than a split second you get that don't understand prompt. If you dial it real fast like 123, she transfers the call properely. Where can we adjust that inter-digit timer to be longer?
Thanks in advance...

We do have a step-by-step guidance for E2k7 UM integration with Cisco CM. Are you using that?

Yeah, it's all installed and working. The problem is - when someone dials an extension from auto-att, it seems as though you only have a max of 1 second between each digit. Our extensions are 3 digits. Dial the extension quickly and it's fine, it rings the extension. But if you are a bit slow in entering all three digits, then the auto-att states it's not allowed to do that and rings the operator - since it only catches 1 or 2 digits.

If you have it setup, how long do you have between each extension digit when dialing from an auto-att? Maybe there is something we've done that shortened the timer length.

Thanks for your reply!

will try to find an answer for you. be back soon.

How can I get that guide? I need to install '07 UM on CCM 5.0

After some invstigation I found that your UM related issue is a known issue. Unfortunately, no workarounds exist. I do believe it will be fixed in Exch2k7 SP1.

The guide is available publically for download. Did you try to search on MS .com? :)
Here is the link to easier your life:

Thanks for the research. Appreciate it. Hopefully SP1 will be out soon!

I'm having the same problem. I guess we have to wait.

The other issue I'm having, and in fact the only issue, is when calls get call forwarded to the Exchange server, it does not go to the mailbox of the forwarding extension, it just asks the caller to login (requesting an extension number and password).

If the a user at their extension dials Exchange, it see that and asks them to enter their pin (i.e. it knows who they are). So it kinda knows what's going on.

I did some Ethereal traces and see where the phone switch is sending the approperiate forwarding extension info, but for some reason chooses to ignore it. Any thoughts?

Great, I had just passed this message to someone else internally that I think ran into the same problem when it was installed.

The only problem I have now is....

Calls go to the VM Box where they are suppose to. The MB owner's greeting pays. They get a beep. The caller leaves a message. Press 1 to send the message and it never gets left. The message just disssapears. It was working for about two days then just stopped.

Hhhmmm, haven't had that problem.
