Ultra basic question about multiple page forms with tab controls

Hi,

I am new to this forum and relatively new to Access so please excuse the newbie question...

I have created a form using the wizard, and I would like to move some of the components onto a new page. I found the tab control in the toolbox and added a tab to my form. However I don't have a new page...

When I open it in form view the tab control is there, but clicking on the new tab doesn't do anything.

Please could someone explain how to create a new page and link to it with a tab control.

Copy your form for safety, better yet, copy the whole database.
[tt]1. Open the form with the tab control.
2. Click on a textbox on the form and cut it (ctrl X).
3. Click on the page name of a tab control, Page 1, for example.
4. Paste the textbox you have just cut onto that page.
5. Repeat with a different textbox and a different page.
6. View the form.[/tt]

Have you got what you want, or have I completely misunderstood your question?

Thanks a lot for the reply.

That half works, in that when I click on the second page I see the textboxes I've moved. However, they are being displayed on top of the previous page...

If you mean what I think you mean, you will find that they have slithered underneath the tab control. Move the tab control and look underneath. You can also try simply add a control from the toolbox to each page, in an experimental spirit. Make sure you click on the page name before adding.

I think I've sussed it now. The problem was that I made the tab control tiny. I didn't realise you have to stretch it out across the whole form....
