I've set up an ATA with a cordless phone plugged in, calls can be made and answered if you know it's 'ringing' but it doesn't ring. Do I need a special master socket rj11 to BT plug? or have I done something clever and turned off ringing on the ATA (can I do that?)
All the best

you have installed it on a slave socket all Analogue devices need a master socket to generate the ringing.

Remember if it doesn't work hit it harder

That is correct. The ATA should use a "Master" socket, usually it's a LJU 2/1a. This type of socket has a capacitor inside it & the ATA wires should use pins 2 & 5. Pin 3 is used to extend the wiring for another socket to enable the ringing circuit.

All the best
