Hi,
I was able to backup to a remote tape device via: (once)

env RSH=/usr/bin/ssh ufsdump -0uf server:/dev/st0 /

now I am getting:
DUMP: bbox: Connection refused
DUMP: Cannot connect to tape host `server'
DUMP: The ENTIRE dump is aborted.

Any suggestions, just don't want to use dd ;)

I had a similar problem the other week and it turned out the IP address of the box with the tape drive had been changed, thus needing a similar change to my .rhosts file. Hopefully it'll be something as simple for you. Cheers.

You should be able to use ssh -v server ls to see why it is preventing the ssh connection.

Annihilannic.
