I have an R8 definity that is tied to another PBX. I have a udp code for extensions 1xxx. We have many technicians that perform AMC's etc, so I do not want any one else who maintains the switch to accidentily assign a 1xxx series as a local extension. Is there a way to prohibit the addition of a local extension on top of the UDP code range?

Thanks

If a tech tries to assign a extension that the whole range (1XXXX) is udp'ed the switch will return a error UDP extension must be local. This should stop them or prompt a question?

Hope this helps

1a2 to ip I seen it all

Are you sure, I just tested this and I get no message
telling me ext must be local.

Well one thing you could do is "change dialplan" and then have it search the UDP tables first.. That way if they do add the extensions 1xxx, UDP will get searched first..
