I just bought a new ubr924 Cable modem / Router. My experience with the Cisco IOS has been with 2500, 2600, 7200 series routers. I have 2 problems..
1) For some reason when I press the "up" arrow key, it not only puts the last command I entered on the screen, it also automatically executes it. THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING. Is this a bug? new feature? And can it be turned off?
2) The configuration Guide for Advanced Data-Only mode says for me to enter a command in the c0 (cable-modem 0) interface config mode that my machine will not accept...
Router(config-if)#ip address dhcp
The manual says enter that command to tell the interface to retrive an ip address from the Cable company's DHCP server. BUT! My router says "unrecognized command"
