UAA HD Error

I am working on a ComputerGeeks desktop computer that a customer ordered with no OS or device drivers. I did a fresh install of XP and have found most of the drivers, which ComputerGeeks admits to be difficult, but I am having trouble with the sound/audio. I have figured out that the computer is a refurbished HP and have found the other drivers from the HP website but when I try to install the sound card drive I get an error message that says something to the effect that I have to install the Universal Audio Architecture bus drive and that I can find it on the Microsoft website. Well guess what? I can't find it anywhere! Does anyone know what this is and where I can find it?

I would suggest that you DL a copy of Everest Home Edition, this piece of software will tell you what type of devices are installed and give a link to the drivers...

alternatively you may give us the specs of the mobo, sound card installed etc...
reason is that I have never come across where the UAA needed to be DL'd at all... especially if it was a refurbished system...

You may be able to update all your mobo drivers/BIOS and solve this....................

The "UAA" driver(s) ver.1.0 are included in the SP1 pack and should automatically be installed when the operating system is updated. The newer "UAA" driver version info on 1.0a can be found here:

Try checking the motherboard mfg website for a downloadable set a device drivers for that board.

Also, what make and model is the motherboard?

Everest Home Edition wouldn't install under W2K3 Server for me. It took two calls to GIGA-BYTE's help desk to get the LAN card working, but all is well. Having the right revision number of the board was the problem with finding the right drivers.
