I replied that you need to look for errdisable recovery type commands. There are many causes for ports to errdisable.
I won't be able to fire up my Cat5000 this week as I'm booked with other things. If I get a chance, I'll see if I can remember the correct set commands. It's been a few years. I liked CatOS a lot since it was cleaner (more efficient) than IOS for L2 functionality.
I think it was the Halloween costumes that killed the thread.

Yeah, but that's really not what I was asking. I know how to look to see why they are err-disable (show errdisable-timeout), but I was asking about trunk ports being set to auto neg duplex and speed. My colleague told me that this would cause the trunk link to flap.
The other question was whether or not simply resetting the module (set module disable 5) would bring them out of err-disable, or if I had to set port disable and then set port enable on each port.
