hi,

i had a sound card pb in win2k since i had migrated from win98. to fix it, i had done a lot of thing and finaly a new installation of win2k on the same partition with ACPI disabled in "standard PC" configuration (only one partition one my hdd)

so, when i boot, win2k ask me on wich i want to boot (2 "windows 2000 professionnal" choices !)

when i choose the first, (total re installation, no win98 migration), my sound card is working well.

so my sound card pb is fixed, BUT i want now remove one of the two installation of win2k !

how can i do that ?

the first installation (migration) as done in "windows" directory

the second installation (total) as be done in "winnt" directory.

should i simply remove "winnt" directory ?

Just modify your boot.ini (deselect read-only first) so it doesn't point to the installation you want to remove, then delete the winnt folder.

An easier way is to go to:
Right click on My Computer and go to Properties. Next go to Advanced then at the bottom go to Startup and recovery. UNCHECK display a list of.... Do not changer thw Windows path in the box above it. Once that is done reboot and let us know how it went. James Collins
