Hi

Ever since i ran the last update of msn, i keep being misteriously signed out of messenger "because you are signed in at anther location"

this seemed very odd to me until one day i noticed 2 msn icons in my task bar.

There is only one version installed according to windows add/remove programs, and it is the most recent. Last night when i was signed out in the middle of a conversation, the conversation continued in the older version of msn, but the icon was not in my task bar, i couldnt even find the version that i was chatting on, until i went to my start/programs/msn and ran it, it then popped up the old version (already signed in)

This is hellishly annoying. Has anyone had and overcome this problem?

I know this took a long time, but i finally got this problem sorted. I see you dont have notification on for this message, so you may not care about feedback, but i thought I would give you some anyway.[pipe]

Thanks for the link to your tips. I did not delete the key, or uninstall my MSN messenger, but i did use your FAQ to solve my problem so i rated it. [thumbsup2]

The path you mention at the start of your tip, to stop MSN loading, was pointing to messenger (windows version), not MSN messenger. This was the key that was giving me grief. so i altered it to point to MSN Messenger and now Messenger no longer boots me out of MSN messenger.[elephant2]

M$ really has a lot to answer for.[soapbox] If they must add so much bloatware into their OS, I wish they would give you and easy option to remove them / turn them off.[flame]

Anyhoos, have a great day/weekend/life. [rockband]
