Does anyone know if you can have 2 SIP Lines on a V9.1 I have 10 channels on a system at the moment but we need to add 5 more but the provider want to provide a second circuit. If possible can it be on the same LAN port I expect not as you need the public ip in the network topology. Or if needed would it work on the second LAN port.
Thanks for any help

The answer is a router, but the IP Office is one of only a few systems with 2 LAN ports, you would be in even worse shape without it [smile]

Hopefully this thread walks you in the right direction:

Also, have you considered a Session Border Controller?
Short story: It is a firewall type product that provides SIP specific security.

Thanks for that
But that is probably a bit complicated all I will be doing is adding another broadband line with a Draytek router with another 5 Channels of SIP so it will have a separate Public IP. So can I have 2 SIP Trunk Lines, if so will I need have them on separate LAN ports or can I have them on the same. If it means having to set up separate routing between the two routers I will put them on separate LANs.

You might want to ask the provider if they can provide the second trunk on a different server, I know Gamma can do this as we have two SIP trunks with them on the same external IP.

You can do this, but you need a device that has SIP ALG or SIP transformations on it. This way you do not use STUN (Network Topology) to amend the local IP address to the public you use the firewall.

This is how I have to setup my SIP as I have Oak call recording which doesnt work with STUN.

So I have a Gamma and a voiceflex SIP trunk going through a Sonicwall (which can have two internet connections going through it). On the SIP Line programming Transport tab - use network topology is set to None, then I have an IP route for each SIP providers network setup to point to the sonicwall. On the Sonicwall SIP transformations is setup and I can either route each provider over a different internet connection or the same one. Depending on the outbound NAT rule configured will depend on the public IP address that is inserted.

Thanks Guys for the help I have tested it all using both LAN ports and it works well so I think I will keep to that. The firewall set up is interesting so I will keep it in mind if we need to do this again. Hope you all have a great Christmas
