two lan connections needed thru 1 NIC

Hi, i've unsuccessfuly found a previous post regarding my matter so I hope someone can help me!

I have a laptop that needs to connect to the internet at work using a predefined ip, subnet, dns and proxy server information.

When i bring it home, i want it to simply use no proxy server and obtain ip and dns automatically.

how do i set it up so that it is easy to swap the laptop between these two networks, rather than manually changing the network LAN connection properties and the internet explorer proxy server properties each time???

Try setting up 2 different hardware profiles. i.e. a home and a work one.

For the work profile you set the proxy server & other necessary settings

For home set to auto obtain etc..

Go into your system properties > hardware tab > hardware profiles

copy your current profile and name it.
At the other location get the settings correct and do the same, naming it differently.

WShen completed you can reboot and login using a specific hardware profile from a boot option list.

The software seems a good choice, but for now i've chosen the hardware profiles, which saves me some cash too!

Needless to say the hardware profile idea works great.
