I have a 15 node network connected to broadband through a Dlink router issuing dhcp. All is fine here. I just added another dlink router/print server, the di704p, for print services only on three machines. If I turn off the dhcp on the print server, I can't access it. If I turn on the dhcp, it works fine, but is conflicting with other dhcp server in issue of addresses. Those machines that get their IP from the print server, can no longer see the first router and gain access to the net. I know their must be a way for these two routers to coexist, but I am at a loss. I need only the print server function from the 2nd router, but need internet access thru the first router for those machines. Any ideas?

You should still be able to access the print server router if you turn off dhcp. Can you set a static IP address on the LAN interface on this router? Set the IP on the same network, but outside the DHCP scope of the second router, and then try to ping it from one of your clients by IP. Do you get a response?

Unable to try untill monday. If I understand correctly, I need to set a static IP on the print server router, which I have already done. I am not sure I understand your references to same network and DHCP scope. If it helps at all, the WAN jack on the print server router is not in use. I am simply using it as a print server and switch for one and only one computer(switch) and print server for three computers.

Was able to work on it today. Reassigned the print server a LAN IP within the scope of the other DHCP router and now all is well. Thanks for help.
