I share space with another doctor. We have totally separate businesses. Each of our phone lines and extensions originate at a series of 66 Blocks and are distributed throughout the office via 9 25 pair cables with 6 Jack 8 conductor module adapters attached to the amphenol. My math says that that is 54 jacks. My suitemate has been very interested in my system since I recently added a processor, music on hold and voicemail. So intrigued, he asked if he can hook up to it. Currently, he just uses a bunch of 2 line Radio Shack phones and a fax/creditcard line. (Yes, we are aware that he needs to get a few 18D phones if this is to work out).

So the question is.....Assuming the system has 6 incoming lines (1,2,3&A,B,C), is there a way to set the system up such that at Ext. 10, 12,13,14,15,16,17 are associated only with CO Lines 1,2&3 and Ext.11,19,20,21,22,23,24,25 are associated only with CO Lines A,B&C and Ext.18 is associated with 1,2,3,A,B &C (this extension is in our staff lounge)?

I chose to split Ext. 10 and 11 so that each doc had a master programming phone.

I'm pretty sure that the Mail VS 5.0 will allow for 2 separate AA and that MOH would be the same for both docs.
That's the one draw back for me as I have propaganda on it.

What say you oh gurus of telephony?

PS: Planning on upgrading to ACS R6.0 very soon to get the forwarding feature.

Cheers!!!

I assume that means "Yes".

So Sensei, master of all tip & ring.......

How?

Cheers!!

Assign different lines to the different phones. If you really want to get fancy, assign unique line ringing to the different companies lines.

The VS5 manual will get you going in the right direction with the voicemail.

You can do what you ask but you should know if you are going to set it up as a key system where you want to see each line...than line1,2,3,a,b,c, will appear on each phone. You can turn the ringing off an specific phones for specific lines but you will be able to see and use each others lines.

Not necessarilly - Line Assignment will let you put any line on any button. So one extension can have line 1-2-3 on the 1st three buttons, while another can have 4-5-6 on the same 3 buttons.

Also remember you may only have 1 music on hold source, so don't get a personalized message to play.
