two 3com nics

I am wondering, I have two of the latest 3com NICs and i wish to make them work together(for faster data transfer if possible). I heard something about half duplex and full duplex, i'm not quite sure what thats all about. If some one can help me, explain whats goin on and how it will work together. Thanks
