Can someone tell me why when the printer is turned on a sheet is printed only with "e"

Thanks

I'd assume it's part of the printer's initialisation sequence... You don't say what printer it is, or when this happens. Does this occur when the PC is switched off, when it's booting, when it's in Windows...? Have you got the correct driver loaded? Try downloading the latest driver for your particular make and model from the manufacturer's website. Any jumpers/settings on the printer that are maybe not correct?

More importantly, does it work and successfully print out a test page?

More infirmation would help , but check with the manual and see which type of port setting the printer needs bi-directional spp epp . these can be changed in the bios.
