Hello friends,

I am just starting migration from WordPerfect to Word 2000, and have run into this dilemma, which has GOT to be simple.. but I can't find the answer.

My pages all default to display the end-of-paragraph mark. I want to be able to toggle it off and on. What or where is the control for that?

I have a Word97 manual which says to use Ctrl+Shift+*. But this toggles the space markers, not the paragraph markers.

I am using MS Word 2000 (9.0.2720).

Thanks.

Can't explain the button's symbol but it should be imediately to the left of the zoom drop-down menu. Looks a bit like a Greek or Latin character (I think). This is probably pressed in / active. Click it to de-activate it and your unwanted characters should dissappear.

Hope this helps

Thanks for you quick reply TSSTechie...

My Word 2000 doesn't show such an animal as you describe. The Zoom feature is in the View submenu. And it is in this submenu that I think the para mark control SHOULD be (as it also is in my WordPerfect 9.0). The choices that are present on the View menu are:

Normal
Web Layout
Print Layout
Outline
Toolbars (submenu)
Ruler
Document Map
Header and Footer
Footnotes (disabled)
Comments (disabled)
Full Screen
Zoom (submenu)...

[5 minutes later] I just thought of it, and checked. It's under Tools>Options.

On a roll now. Thanks.
