Hi,

I have found myself unable to access any TTY's on my system and am unsure how to get them back up. Can anyone help please.

When I try and connect to the TTY's I just get a blank terminal screen.

I have attached a photo to show where I am connecting to the unit. I have tried both the tty's on the left and the one on the right.

Is there any other way to connect into the unit to reset the tty's

Thanks

Yep, that looks to me like your SDI paddle board/s conections
try connecting direct to the CPU on the 'Active' side connector J25 but set/tweak your comms to n/8/1, those SDI ports could be disabled ?

Cheers!!

Thanks for the reply.

There is a connector named J25 on the left side but it is of a different type. I think it is a 25 way connector. Do I need a special cable to connect to it or am I looking at the wrong port.

Thanks, thats me got connected now. The TTY ports that I use (4&5) show as enabled but I am getting nothing from them.

I have tried going into LD37 and have disabled and re-enabled them but that did nothing.

Do you know anything that I could try to get them back.

The toggle switch is in the up position. I am assuming this is on as the switch should not have been touched since last time the pbx was accessed successfully.

Looks as if your paddle board's got Red Eye and its not due to the photo being taken...I'd be a bit concerned, that looks as if its disabled, what about your System Monitor is that OK ?

Cheers!!

I toggled the toggles prior to taking the picture. The LED's were off prior to me doing this.

Im going to be a dummy here. How do I check the system monitor?

LD 37
.STAT XSM (Status Monitor)

.STAT TTY

.DIS TTY X
.ENL TTY X (Enables)

Cheers!!

Just to let you know my problem is now solved.

The paddle board was faulty. Il give some steps incase anyone else has a similar issue.

Got loged on through the J25 connector on the switch. I got caught out at first because I forgot this port is tied to the active CPU. If the first J25 that you try doesnt wotk try the one on the alternate CPU.

Checked tty's using LD37 stat tty. All showed ok despite the redeye on the board. Disabled and enabled them which cleared the redeye but port was still dead.

Checked TTY settings in LD22 using PRT, ADAN TTY

Checked jumpers on paddle board against manualto ensure correct settings for ports.

All appeared fine. Messed about with swapping serial cables and serial settings in client software to no avail.

Decided to swap paddle board. Disabled TTY's in LD 37. Flicked off switch on padle board and removed it. Replaced board and turned new one on. Enabled TTY's and tried connecting again and it worked first time.

Thanks to everyone for the advice which helped me to troubleshoot, it is appreciated.
