I'm trying to get TTS (Text to Speech) to work on the Linux Voicemail Pro Apps Server.

I'm running R8 Advanced Edition, Apps Server 8.0-1009.

I also have English TTS installed. But this was Installed after the server was installed by
loading the boot disk and pressing "upgrade" and loading the optional Language Disks.

The help file says TTS is included with Advanced Edition and is supposed to work on
the Linux Voicemail Pro.

But in Voicemail Pro client, when create action: "Speak Text" type some words..
It doesn't do anything. Also, the help files says the WAVE editor is supposed
to give you the option to output "Text Speech" when generating WAV files, but
that option isn't there.

What am I missing?

Do you have a TTS license?
You must have one otherwise it won't work?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

No. I don't have a separate TTS license.

Isnt TTS ability included with Advanced Edition?

That one does not work on Linux (missed it in your post)

Code:
4.4.1 Linux TTS Licensing
All TTS features (E-mail Reading, Speak Text Action, and Prompt Recording) require
the VoiceMail Pro TTS Professional license before they can be used.
The TTS Professional license will be ignored by VoiceMail Pro running on
Windows.
VoiceMail Pro on Linux will not recognize any of the existing (Windows) TTS
licenses.
Email reading will require the TTS Professional License (and not only the
Preferred Edition license).
[b]Advanced Edition will not enable any TTS functionality on Linux.[/b]

Oh, that sucks.. Would you mind looking up which License Part Number I need to make this work?

This is the one: 268844
