Tsweb & Vista IE 7 - won't connect to Terminal Server on...

Windows 2000 Server. It is no problem with IE 7 & XP Pro.

I get instead:

"VBScript: Remote Desktop Disconnected

The remote computer disconnected because of an error in the licensing protocol. Please try connecting the remote computer again or contact your server administrator."

What's wrong, what is the fix or work around?

I found serveral things that might help (or at least give a starting point). Go through these in the order listed.

Does the regular Remote Desktop client software work? (not the web client)
Does the web client work if you don't run full screeen?
What firewall software is being used & have you tested with it disabled?
Are all your IE security settings set a their defaults?
Is there any difference if you add this site to your trusted zone?

More info >> Tsweb & Vista Home Premium (not Vista Ultimate). It works with XP Pro. Is there a work around w/o having to upgrade Vista Home Premium? I'll look at linney's url's - may take a while to review. Thanks guys!

Oh - forgot - Logmein.com works on Vista, XP very well.

Hi linney - no those links are for other problems. I just want to use 111.222.333.444/tsweb (not the real IP numbers) on Vista Home Premium notebook PC. Can this be done?

Maybe you need the extra facilities of Business or Ultimate

Check the RD client Options on the Advanced tab. There are some security related items there that did not exist in previous versions of the RD client. Perhaps there is setting that is not compatible with Win2K. Also make sure all aspects of Terminal Server on the Win2K machine have been updated - including IIS components.
