Hi, I am trying to link or embed documents from either a scanner or microsoft word into a access database. I want to be able to scan from the access database and link them to the current record. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

I dont know much about the embedding part, but what i would do is create a table - Links that has 2 fields 1- ID 2-Path.

After u scan ur image, place the path it is saved in the "Path" field with a unique ID.

That way you can always access them through the path/link which can be read into any form or other table from that one table..

Hope this helps...

Jeremy, definitely helped. Thanks... Got it to work with a dialog control, but I am worried about a network environment. Have to have them all save on server. But it worked. Thanks again.

Hi,

Rather than linking, why not save the doc's as images?
jpeg's are quite small and will be held within the table.

Obviously, if the source doc's change then this will not be reflected in the table.
