I have a large avi file on my computer and when I try and delete it a message appears saying that it is being used by another program and therefor is unable to be deleted. There is no other program open on the computer when this happens. Just hilighting the file causes my system to slow rght down. How am I able to remove this file?

Trying to delete avi file

Use DelLater:
Use regedit and delete the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850DC73E}\InProcServer32
This will prevent Explorer from loading shmedia.dll in response to file property queries on AVI files.
Reboot and test.
Use regedit and delete the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850DC73E}\InProcServer32
