I recently inheritied a huge Access Database and it was developed by non-programmers using no naming convention at all!
I did some google searches but would like a professional opinion on what is a good tool to use. I am willing to buy the tool if it is trustworthy.
Some goals in mind:
[ul][li]I'd like the ability to change the name of any control on a form/report and have this tool be able to check through all macros, vb code, other fields, queries, etc. (thorough comb=through of the entire mdb) and update those changes[/li]
[li]Ability to get a map of all objects that refer to a specific object (so I can see to what extent a certain control is being used so that when I make changes to one form, I know how it might affect the rest of the db).[/li]
[li]Ability to detect unrelated queries/tables/forms... or get a map of how forms are linked... program flow, etc. This database was also used to run ad-hoc queries, and there are 100s of improperly named queries, of which I am not sure which query is a personal query and which is an intergral part of the database[/li][/ul]
I intend to split the database into backend/frontend, and perhaps give them another frontend seperate from the main database frontend for writing queries.
