trusts w/nt domain

I am setting up trusts with an NT domain and a 2k AD-integrated domain. The 2k domain says it trusts the NT domain, but the NT domain isn't able to trust the 2k domain.
first, to make sure it's not a user error, anyone have a good how-to/reference for mixed mode environments?

I haven't spent much time past this to figure it out, but i'll let everyone know, if you don't set up the trusts right, you start getting "ghost" computers in your PDC. I have to delete the computers in server manager, join the clients to a workgroup, then rejoin them to the domain.
