Hi,

I am trying to use the TRUSTBAR util to backup all my trustee assignments in my tree, this works fine. The XML file is created - what I then want to do is restore the assignments to a new NDS tree, so I edit the XML file with the new directory path, OU and tree name.

I then run the restore command: TRUSTBAR VOL1:trustees.xml -R -V

I then get the following error messages:

TrustBar_ParseXML: root Vol1:
TrustBar_ParseXML: path vol1:private\DaveM
CN=DaveM.OU=IT.OU=Headoffice.O=BTE rights 251
TrustBar_ParseXML(vol1:private\DaveM) NWDSMapNameToID(CN=DaveM.OU=IT.OU=HeadOffice.O=BTE) error -601

Then looking at the effective rights for the user adn directory, the trustee assignments have not been assigned.

I have checked on Novell's support site and apparently you can edit the trustee.xml file and change the path, OU and Tree name, but I can't find out what the -601 error is.

Does anyone have an idea?

Thanks
Simon.

The -601 error generally means that the NDS object is not found. Don't know if that logic applies to your error, but I would verify context, etc and maybe try different variations of the naming convention.

cant remember on the trustbar but if you have to log in then put tree name as well on the login

601 do tend to be a dont know attribute error but i know on the likes of sdidiag etc that a 601 is incorrect login and the login needs to be

.user.org.tree
