Trust domain between NT4.0 server and Win 2000 Server

We are currently running an NT server 4.0 sp6a domain and need to establish a trust domain with a win 2000 sp1 domain. Everytime I try to establish a trust, I get the error message that the domain controller cannot be located. I have tried to do this both ways and get the same error message. The link between the two is a 56k router.

I have managed to establish trusts with a test domain no problem.

Any ideas?

Have you got WINS configured, if so ensure that both servers are configured for WINS

Wins is correctly configured on both servers and I can ping all domains. The firewall between the two is an ISA Server.

I would guess the firewall is causing a problem. Maybe UDP ports should be opened. Check out this Technet article and verify that your Firewall isn't causing the problem:
