Trunk group question

Hello all,
What is the command to find out what the phone numbers are in a certain trunk group?? For example Our trunk group 1 has 8 ports assigned to it. Is there any way to figure out the number for each port? Since this is one of our remote sites and there is no IT guy at this location, I'd be relying on any average joe to walk thru the commands.

You have to manually add the assigned numbers on the Trunk Group form. You can trace the cross connects from the switch port to the RJ-21X.

That's the unfortunate part. We do not have anyone at the site that knows how to read ports on the frame. In a perfect world, that would have been the easiest solution.

I thought there was a way to go into maintenance set and enter a code or some sorts (ie *84) then enter the port number to get dial tone. I know there is a similar feature on the Nortel switches......

If you can walk someone through logging into the switch, have them type disp trunk 1. The list of phone numbers and associated ports should be on page 5.

I already have the port list from page 5 of the disp trunk group command. It only has the port number-01a0601, Code-TN747, and SFX name-B. I've noticed the numbers are listed in some of our other switches, but not this one.

Sorry, didn't realize that an entry in that field is optional... but it is! You are right, you can access a port directly from a phone and get dial tone. The station COR has to have "Facility Access Trunk Test" set to yes and I believe also "Console Permissions" set to yes in the COS. You also have to make sure there’s a “Facility Access Calls Access Code” set in your feature access codes. Not sure if your remote Average Joe will be able to go through all that (or that you really want him to have access to all that!).

Are you hoping to be able to access the port directly and make a call, and use Caller ID to determine the phone number?

Its not called maintenance set but possibly you could try facility tests. You would assign a code on page 2 of the feature access codes screens. I just tried this and it worked. Dial the access code, then the port address ie:01b1001 then an outside number with caller id. This should show what number that port is connected to. Just be sure to disable your test code on the feature access screen due security reasons when you are done.
