I have formatted my hard drive w/ a boot up disk (w/ CD-Rom Support). Now, unfortunately, my INTERNAL CD-ROM DRIVE DOES NOT WORK AND SO IT DOES NOT READ THE O.S. CD. I WANT TO USE MY EXTERNAL BURNER TO READ THE WINDOWS CD.

How CAN I MAKE THE COMPUTER DETECT MY BURNER SO I CAN INSTALL THE O.S??

(IN WINDOWS, MY BURNER WAS D: AND INTERNAL WAS E:)

PLEASE HELP!!!
tHANX SO MUCH

You will have to install dos drivers for the burner via the bootup disk, so that it is allocated a drive letter. If you don't have dos drivers, this may not be possible.

How is the burner connected to the computer?

You might be able to get CD support from a W95B or C bootup disk if you can locate one locally.
Or look on web for boot disk. Or in the FAQs to see if there are pointers, or search for the words "boot disk" in this forum. I know this has come up before, with solutions, just can't remember exactly where. Ed Fair

You are aware that the drive letters move on one during this process? When you opt for CD support, at the end of the text you will see the letter of the drive recognized. It will read something like 'DRIVE(your drive letter)=DRIVER MSCD001. Use the above info to deduce which drive it actually is. Andy.
