OK, So I've designed a really nice spread, all the images and type is there.

I haven't resized the images, they're all 300 dpi, CMYK, tif images.

I'm set to print.

But once printed out, all the images in the work appear to be low res and the colour looks awful (way too bright), they look like the image previews you get when working in Quark, using image boxes.

I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. When I save the piece of work to disk, and try printing it out on another Mac, which has been printing images fine in quark, it's still the same, the images look bad.

Anyone got an idea what I'm doing wrong? Or is it my copy of Quark?

Could this problem be due to your page/printer settings? You can print documents with low resolution images for speedy proofing. Try flipping the switch to normal output.

Yeah, I've flipped the switch to say normal output.

A lot of my printer setting are grayed out, so I can't touch the output resolution and such.

It may be case of re-installing Quark.

It feels like it's a printer compatability problem. But I don't know. I've tried all the obvious solutions and nothing is working.

Sounds like you are printing to a non-Postscript printer, or else Quark can't find the original image files.

See faq260-3087

You may also want to check to make sure that you have the latest and greatest PPDs installed for the printer. (...Or at least copy them from the other computer that seems to be okay - - if they are both printing to the same printer)
