Trying to install Microsoft Office Professional Service Pack 3 (SP3). I downloaded o2ksp3.exe from the MSDN website. When running it, I get a message that it is looking for the file 'data1.msi' and instructs me to insert the CD-Rom for the Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Professional.
The disk I have is Microsoft Office 2000 Profesional, but not the same disk as was originally used to install the Office 2000. The message implies that there is a different version of Office 2000 Pro on the disk than is already in the computer. I don't recall if the disk that I orginally used to install 2000 was labeled as an SR-1 disk.
Even though MSDN web site states that SR-1 does not need to be installed to install SP3, it seems it won't allow it without an SR-1 disk. The only thing I can do is click Cancel, at which time I get the following error message:
"Error 1706:
No valid source could be found for product Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Professional. The Windows instaler cannot continue."
Does anyone know a way around this. I'll appreciate any help.
