trouble installing driver for fuji finepix 4700 camera

I've got windows 2000 pro on my PC and when I try to install the driver for this camera, I go through the usual rituals where hardware is detected, etc. and I browse the CD supplied by Fuji, and the driver is installed, but the camera does not show up as a drive on MY COMPUTER when it is connected via USB. When I check in DEVICE MANAGER, the driver is installed but there is a note saying there was an error installing. I tried re-installing several times with no luck

any idea whats going on?

Check to see if you camera is on the W2K hardware compatibility list:
