I was wondering if someone could provide me with a simple trigger that just displays a message on the screen whenever a certain table is updated? The reason that I am asking this is because I am trying to do another trigger, but it doesn't seem to be working. I want to make sure that I can get a trigger to work on my system, so I figured creating a simple one that displays a message would let me know my system works properly.

I also wanted to check and see if triggers still fired when SQL 2000 tables are linked via an Access Project?

Thanks very much for any help that you can provide. :)

Triggers execute on the Server and cannot display a message on the client screen. Triggers can return error codes to a client and the client progam can display the message. You can even create a trigger to send email messages if you want.

Triggers will fire when tables are updated via an Access Project.

If you want to get the best answer for your question read faq183-874 and faq183-3179.

Yes, thanks for your reply. Now I know that I am not going crazy - since I couldn't get any error messages to display on the user screen. Thanks again.
