I have a bunch of text files on my win2000 pc that I want to transfer to my Solaris 8 pc (Intel ver). My Solaris pc isn't on the internet so the only way I guess I can transfer the files is by floppy or by cd-rom. How would I do this? Aren't the two OS's different making this more then popping in the floppy or cdrom and copying the files over.

Please help, any info you could spare would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance

For starters once you copy the files over to the Solaris machine you will have to issue a dos-unix command for each file. I cant remember the command of the top of my head, sorry. You can burn a cd with the text files, just make sure there are no spaces in the name. For example, you have a file named "my file.txt" you will need to rename the file to "my_file.txt" before burning them to cd.

The command is dos2unix.
there is also a matching unix2dos command .
These take care of the differences of lines ending with cr/lf etc.
