I'm trying to put my old slave HD into my new PC, also as a slave. I've manually input the settings from the old PC into the new PC's BIOS, and Windows98 has detected the new drive in Device Manager (says it's running properly). The problem is it is not assigning it a drive letter!! What am I doing wrong? Have I missed something?

Have you tried letting the BIOS autodetect the drive? Unless your "new" PC is really an older machine with old BIOS, it should detect ok and assign the drive letter.
