No, Im transferring in to my vVAL (v9) in my G700.. Please give me steps.. Thanks a lot.

Also, I dont have my VAL manager.. Thanks. I would really appreciate if u could give me steps on how to transfer the said file. Thanks.

Connect to the switch in the usual manner using remote access
Open a SAT session
Enable file xfer on board 01v9
Make sure secure is set to n
Upload files via web interface to the S8300
Open a command prompt and telnet to the S8300
cd /var/home/ftp/pub
ls –al to make sure files are in the directory
ftp “mgp address”
bin {enter}
hash {enter}
To transfer 1 announcement – put “filename.wav”
To transfer multiple announcements – mput “*.wav” and follow the prompts
To exit the ftp session type “bye” {enter}
To exit terminal type “exit” {enter}

Regards

Richard

Richard,

How can I assign an extension for that after it was transferred to v9? How to check if it was successfully transfered?

Also in the steps, ftp "mgp address", that would be for example: ftp xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx then enter? Sorry coz this will be my first time to do this. thanks

You would have to create the extension first, prior to uploading the announcement.

Yes you would ftp xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx then enter.

When im done creating the extension. How will I put the newly transferred .wav file in that extension? lastly, how will i know my mgp IP address? thanks a lot.

Is the my MGP address is the same with my G700 address? If its different, thw MGP Ip address is the one that i will be using during the ftp session right?

Thanks for your great help guys..
