Transfering to voicemail

i have a site with about 180 users they would like to transfer direct to voicemail for a user that is out of the office.
In the past where there has only been a few that would need this feature i have created a shortcode for each user but to do it this way would take a long time to type.
Is there a way i could create a generic code along the lines of #2XX and #3XX where the extension being dialed would be inserted into the shortcode in place of the XX

any help would be great

Feat Voicemail Collect

I've noticed when using this feature you need to wait until the s.c. has connected before completing the transfer. Transfer #2xx wait a second and then hang-up.

Thanks for the info here, is there a way to take it one step further and put in on a key... i.e. 1 touch key plus extension number?

create a short code that leads to a module. Have the module do the collection of the vm box number. If you put the DVM(direct to voice mail) short code on a button ie. *56/DVM, it displays the DVM on the phone, and generaly the delay from pressing button to getting to the dial pad is enough delay to let the module catch up. It works for me.
