hi gurus, i dont know if this topic is related but please help...

I have a Sun machine in my office which i use to connect to customerX Sun machine via dial-up connections. The customerX client Sun machine is then connected to the server which is in its LAN network. I would like to find out if it is possible to retrive a file from the server to my machine?

Else i could ftp the files over to the Client machine from the Server but how to i get this files to my machine? Is there like some Sun software which allows me to do that ?

Thanks for your help.

regards,
Dinesh

what do you mean with "I would like to find out if it is possible to retrive a file from the server to my machine"?

how do you login to the other machine? Are you running a tip connection or login by dial-up-router?

If you use a dialup router and login with telnet/rsh/ssh/... you can try ftp to get files from the host, if ftp is disables/blocked you could try scp; there are some oldstyle things like uucp,... I never used them... :)
