transfer to voicemail

i have a t7316 with a t24 basic kim with dn numbers on it. i can transfer a call by pressing the softkey transfer button then the dn button on the kim and the call is transfered. however when i answer a call and use the voicemail transfer button or feature 986 i cannot transfer via the kim only by entering the 3 digit extention on the 7316 . i have the voicemail transfer button on the 7316e.i moved it to the kim same result. how can i transfer a call by touching the vmt f986 the the kim key that represents the extention

Can't be done. The F986 is looking for a mailbox #, not a DN from the KIM key.
