Transactions problem

When I use the BeginTrans method I get the error "attribute cannot be set now". I cannot find this error message in the Reference - as a matter of fact I cannot find any error messages in there. Casting about indicates this might have something to do with a "Transaction DDL" dynamic provider property, but the trail goes cold at that point.

Can anyone tell me how to solve the problem? I am using Jet and the connection Properties does have a Trasaction DDL Property member but I can't make out how to interpret it ( the value is 8 ).

The value "Transaction DDL" = 8 means that the connection supports DDL and DML statements in any order within the transaction.
