Transaction Processing

As someone very new to MySQL i understood that transaction processing was not possible. Then reading through through the documentation on the mysql.com site I read about BDB tables, that appear to support transaction processing. Is anyone successfully using these ?
Any tips/info gratefully received [sig][/sig]
