I am currently using a date entry form that someone else built. I cannot open it in design view. Anyway, before you begin data entry it pulls up a window asking for "Transaction Date". After keing in the transaction date you are then taken to the data entry form and the date field within is set to the "Transaction Date". Thus eliminating having to key in date for every record(Only a couple with diff. dates.)

I am building a new database and would like to be able to do this but I don't know how.

If you know please help....

Thanks

What version of Access does the existing program use, 97 or 2000?

The other program uses Access 95. The database cannot be converted to 2000. If I could convert it I could copy the feature I am trying to replicate.

Try in your windows explorer where the database resides, keeping the shift key pressed as you double click the database to open it. This works for 97, opening it in design view, and actually I am trying to figure out how to reverse this because it doesnt work for 2000.

Hope it works for you then you can just copy the code.
